Firestone has introduced the Destination LE4, a new all-season highway tire designed for crossovers, SUVs, and light trucks, as the successor to the popular Destination LE3. This tire features several enhancements, including optimized rib widths and deeper initial tread depth to extend its lifespan. Additionally, thinner 3D sipes have been incorporated to improve performance in wet and light-snow conditions. The LE4 also boasts high-strength body piles and steel cords within its carcass, along with greater ingredient consistency in the rubber compound, which enhances tread wear and grip.

According to Firestone’s testing, the Destination LE4 is expected to last 16 percent longer than its predecessor, the LE3. It also outperforms competitors, lasting 9 percent longer than the General Grabber H/T and 43 percent longer than the BFGoodrich Advantage Control HT tire. In terms of stopping performance, the LE4 offers a 2.6 percent reduction in dry stopping distance, equating to 2.0 feet shorter than the LE3. It also stops 8.0 feet shorter than the Toyo Open Country H/T II in both wet and dry conditions and outperforms the BFGoodrich Advantage Ctrl HT by stopping 2.0 feet shorter in dry conditions and 4.0 feet shorter in wet conditions.

The Firestone Destination LE4 will be available in 65 sizes, accommodating rims from 15 to 22 inches. This versatility allows it to fit a range of popular vehicles, including the Mazda CX-5, Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and Nissan Armada. With these features and improvements, Firestone aims to provide a reliable and long-lasting tire option for drivers of America’s most popular vehicles.
