North American premiere of the BMW M Concept Neue Klasse at Monterey Car Week in California: The Munich-based manufacturer is showing numerous new images of the electric M3 concept, which is set to launch in 2027. Visible details include the new "M Yellow Lights," the air intake on the front hood, and many other details.
Inside, the steering wheel stands out with two red buttons for various M modes, as well as paddles that are likely used to change the simulated gears. The selector for engaging the N, R, D, and B driving modes is also designed completely differently than in the regular i3.
The electric M3 gets four electric motors, enabling active torque vectoring. As in the i3, the battery consists of cylindrical cells in the 4695 form factor, but the cooling is better: Instead of a cooling strip in every other row of cells, there is one in every row of cells here.
