Randy Grubb is a master of forming aluminum by hand, and his latest work called the Falconer Dodici is among his best creations yet. The design takes inspiration from the streamlined 1937 Delahaye Type 145 but amplifies the huge curves even further. Watch how he builds it in this clip, and then see the roadster on the road at the end.

Watching Grubb at work is amazing. He’s clearly a master craftsman because he uses just a few tools to do magical things with aluminum panels. The Falconer Dodici is full of beautiful design touches, but the best might be the grille that takes its shape from a Tiffany glass vase.

The aluminum roadster doesn’t lack for power either because a massive 600-cubic-inch (9.8-liter) V-12 sends 640 horsepower (477 kilowatts) to the rear through a six-speed automatic. In a really attractive touch, the individual throttle bodies integrate into the hood.

If you happen to be at Monterey Car Week, the Falconer Dodici makes its grand public debut there at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering on August 19. Motor1 has a team in Monterey covering the event, so look for coverage of all the amazing vehicles there.

Grubb's best known work is likely Jay Leno's Tank Car. He also created the DecoPods, which were featured on Jay Leno’s Garage. Another project from him was the Pulse Jet Lakester that combined his streamlined aesthetic with a belly tank land speed record vehicle.
