Actor Kit Harington is likely best known as Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, but he puts away his character's sword in a new ad for the 2017 Infiniti Q60. Harington gets behind the wheel of the crimson sports coupe and dramatically recites William Blake's poem The Tyger.
At first glance, this is an odd ad for a sports car. The imagery is normal because it shows the Q60 speeding along a curvaceous, tree-lined road. However, Harington’s recitation gets louder and begins to overshadow the 3.0-liter biturbo V6’s grumble as the spot goes on. Listening closer to the poem gives the commercial more meaning, though. The lines consider the creation of a tiger, and you can connect this to the way engineers develop a luxury coupe.
To get the word out about the new Q60, Infiniti is also prepping online adds with music technologist Young Guru and shoe designer Sophia Chang. The coupe arrives in the United States in September and starts at $39,885 after destination. The standard powertrain is a turbocharged 2.0-liter with 208 horsepower (155 kilowatts) and 258 pound-feet (350 Newton-meters) of torque. Infiniti expects most customers to opt for the new VR-series biturbo 3.0-liter V6 with 300 hp (224 kW) and 295 lb-ft of torque (400 Nm), which starts at $45,205. A choice of rear- or all-wheel drive is available with both powerplants, and all of these models get a seven-speed automatic gearbox. Later, Infiniti will add the Q60 Red Sport 400 with 400 hp (298 kW) and 350 lb-ft (475 Nm) from the biturbo V6, and the automaker will announce prices for it later.

The one-minute film opens with Harington striding towards the Q60. He settles in the car and dramatically begins reciting William Blake's primal poem, "The Tyger." Harington's intense performance is awakened as he takes both the Q60 and the poem for a visceral, winding drive. The film ends with an effortless stop from the Q60 and a knowing glance by Harington.

Blake's "The Tyger" is an inspiring reflection of such writing and also captures the high performance empowerment of the Q60; they are both an exploration of aesthetic beauty, primal ferocity, ambition and seduction.

Harington's "Tyger" film is one of three new films being released to mark the launch of the Q60. INFINITI are due to release web films in the coming weeks of Audio Engineer and Music Technologist Young Guru and Sneaker Designer Sophia Chang.
The Q60 featured in this film is a premium sports coupe that combines expressive design with exhilarating performance and dynamics. The taut, muscular lines of the exterior hint at the Q60's considerable performance potential –enhanced with the all-new 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine.
