Oakley is celebrating golf's return to the Olympic Games by unveiling a futuristic golf cart jetpack designed for two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson.
Created to let the professional golfer see the course and his game like never before, the golf cart jetpack was jointly-developed with Martin Aircraft and features a rotary engine which produces 210 horsepower. This enables the jetpack to travel at speeds up to 46 miles per hour and climb to altitudes as high as 3,000 feet.
Besides having a rotary engine, the jetpack is equipped with traditional golf car features including a golf bag holder, a cup holder, and "everything else you need for a great round."
Oakley says the flying golf cart gives players a bit of an unfair advantage as it provides them with a "bird’s eye view of every hole as well as the freedom to fly easily from location to location in any environment without restriction."
The golf cart is based on Martin's personal jetpack which is slated to be lunched late next year. The jetpack starts at $200,000 but requires users to have proper training and certifications to use.
As you may recall, this isn't the first time Oakley and Bubba Watson have teamed up to create a unique golf cart. Three years ago, the two unveiled a golf cart hovercraft which could float over water as well as the back nine.
