European truck racing finally comes to the virtual world.

If you've ever seen European truck racing, you will know it's one of the most awesome spectacles in motorsport. The trucks may look huge and cumbersome, but they are pure-bred racers with more than 1,000 horsepower. One driver I spoke to recently told me his truck handles better than a BMW he also races. I try to go and see some truck racing every year, and it's always among the most entertaining motorsport I see all year.

And now truck racing has finally arrived in the virtual world, as the #24 tankpool24 Racing Mercedes Antos that Markus Bauer races in the European Truck Racing Championship is available in the latest update package for Forza 6.

The Mercedes is a big beast, weighing more than 12,000 pounds, but it has 1,080 horsepower to overcome that mass. Very little of which is over the rear axle, so it breaks into lurid drifts with very little provocation, a handling trait the trailer above demonstrates pretty vividly. It'll be interesting to see, too, if the virtual truck is limited to 100 miles-per-hour as the real thing is. Why? Because no barrier known to man can stop an out-of-control 12,000 lb lump travelling much faster than that.

Also included in the Turn 10 Select pack with the race truck is the unique Emil Frey Jaguar XK GT3 that races in the Blancpain Endurance Cup; the #4 ROAL Motorsport Chevrolet Cruze TC1 from the World Touring Car Championship; the 1969 Brawner Ford Hawker III; the McLaren 570S; a 1980 Fiat 124 Sport Spider, and even a 1957 BMW Isetta 300 Export.

The whole pack is available for download at a cost of $7, or you can get the cars individually.
