When you think of art cars, most likely BMWs spring to mind. However, not all of them have a badge depicting the colors of the Bavarian flag. Here we have one from Volvo designed by none other than Polestar Cyan Racing driver and Swedish royal, Prince Carl Philip. He worked together with teammate Oscar Kylberg to create a special livery for the Volvo S60 Polestar WTCC which is being showcased these days at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed and was designed to take part in FIA’s WTCC “Art Car Contest.”

Prince Carl Philip and Oscar Kylberg run the design company Bernadotte & Kylberg together and have decided to try something different than their usual line of work which involves home interior design, textiles and lifestyle products. While most of the cars racing nowadays in WTCC have rather busy liveries, this Volvo S60 uses a simplified scheme with the colors of the Swedish flag, as the the creators wanted to stay true to the Scandinavian tradition of simplifying things. Less is more, right?

The lovely Volvo S60 Polestar WTCC Art Car is being showcased at Goodwood this weekend together with the upgraded road-going S60 Polestar that now packs 367 horsepower (270 kilowatts) from a turbocharged and supercharged 2.0-liter engine.
