Citroen has started the countdown to the official debut of the next generation C3 with a video teaser. The French brand will run a promotional campaign through a special Facebook page until June 29, when the city car will make its online premiere.
The replacement for the current model is coming after almost seven years on the market, while the series was launched for the first time back in 2002. In the last 14 years the brand managed to sell more than 3.6 million units of the C3.
Citroen promises a “colorful design” combined with a “feel-good personality” and “unique, powerful shape” that will “shake-up the small car market.” Putting this into simpler words, expect a slightly bigger model with a quirky design inspired by the C4 Cactus.
In terms of engines, the FWD vehicle will receive a range of familiar units, including revised turbo petrol and diesel three- and four-cylinder motors. Based on the platform that underpins the Peugeot 208, the C3 will come as standard equipped with manual transmissions, while customers will also be able to order an automatic gearbox.
