Nissan teased us with the possibly of an entry-level sports car several years ago when it unveiled the stylish IDx Nismo concept. The company continued to stoke the hype for well over a year but it was apparently for nothing as a production model no longer appears to be on the horizon.
However, the model hasn't been completely forgotten as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has released a video on Instagram which suggests the concept will be making a cameo appearance in Fast & Furious 8. There isn't a whole lot of context but we can see the IDx Nismo will be joined by an assortment of high-end models from Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Rolls-Royce.
Little is known about the movie's plot but it will feature an all-star cast that includes Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, and Michelle Rodriguez as well as newcomers Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron. The latter actor will be playing a mysterious villain who has been described as the group's "greatest adversary ever."
Fast & Furious 8 is scheduled to hit theaters on April 14th, 2017 and it will be part of “one last trilogy to end the saga.”
