Nissan confirms plans for a big event timed to concede with the launch of Gran Turismo Sport.
Nissan's GT Academy is entering its eighth year as the company has launched its latest iteration of the popular racing competition.
Six million entrants have competed in the event since 2008 and soon players from six different territories - including Australia, Indonesia, Mexico, North Africa (Algeria, Egypt and Morocco), the Philippines, and Thailand - will be able to enter this year's competition. Those living outside aforementioned regions shouldn't fret as Nissan has revealed a bigger competition is slated to concede with the launch of Gran Turismo Sport which will be available on PlayStation 4 starting November 15th.
Polyphony Digital is once again supporting this year's competition and is providing an early version of Gran Turismo Sport featuring an assortment of different Nissan models. Nissan says this means participants "will be amongst the first to experience this early version of Gran Turismo Sport before its release date."
As a refresher, the Nissan GT Academy is a virtual competition which pits a number of players against each other. The best players are then determined and given an opportunity to race cars in the real world.
