Rides on 19-inch alloys backed by Brembo brakes.
We’ve seen a plethora of special editions launched by BMW in recent weeks for Japan, but now another premium marque has prepared a limited-run model specifically for the Land of the Rising Sun. Cadillac is making the ATS a bit more desirable by giving it a chunky set of 19-inch V-spoke alloy wheels featuring a two-tone look. These come wrapped in run-flat Pirelli P Zero tires measuring 225/35 R19 at the front and 255/30 R19 for the rear axles.
A new set of alloys is certainly not enough to justify the special edition status attributed to this ATS Luxury Sport, so Cadillac is also installing a set of Brembo brakes and a sports suspension to sweeten the pot. You get to pick between Sable Black and Crystal White body paints while the interior comes with cashmere accents for an extra dose of a premium touch.
As for power, you’re stuck with the turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that pushes out 272 hp (203 kW) and 295 pound-feet (400 newton meters) of torque. Output is channeled exclusively to the rear wheels with help from an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Cadillac Japan isn’t saying how many units of the ATS Luxury Sport Edition will be made, but we do know pricing kicks off at ¥5,290,000 (about $49,911). For the sake of comparison, the 2016MY ATS Sedan in U.S. with 2.0-liter turbo, RWD, and eight-speed auto kicks starts at $36,240. Adding 19-inch alloys will increase the bill by $2,895-$3,495, depending on wheel design.
