Subcompact crossovers are all the rage these days in Europe, so it’s no wonder Renault wants to capitalize on the popularity of these small high-riding models. The Captur is a hit at home in France where Renault has managed to sell more than 32,000 units since the start of the year. To boost sales even further, there’s now a limited-run Wave special edition based on the Intens trim level, but with extra goodies to lure in more buyers.

It wears an exclusive Pearlescent White body with a contrasting black roof and platinum grey skid plates. If you are not too fond of the white shade, you can pick from three other hues: Platinum Grey, Pacifique Blue and Marine Fumé Blue. Regardless of choice, all of them come with a black roof to enable a two-tone look.

The Captur Wave rides on special 17-inch alloy wheels which have a black diamond-effect look and come with blue hub center caps. It also gets “Wave” badging to let everyone know it’s not the run-of-the-mill Captur and also has blue decals on the mirrors and roof.

Renault Captur Wave special edition

Once you get inside, the Captur Wave welcomes you with TEP/fabric upholstery that comes with blue beading and top-stitching. Renault is spicing up the cabin by installing a dark-colored dashboard and front door sill protection, along with new “premium” carpet mats featuring embroidered “Captur” badging. The Captur Wave is available with the Techno Pack that adds a rearview camera, electrochromic mirror, and Renault’s R-Link Evolution Multimedia System.

As far as engines are concerned, Renault is selling the Captur Wave with the TCe 90 and TCe 120 turbocharged gasoline units, with the latter being available with both a six-speed manual and a dual-clutch automatic. On the diesel side we find the dCi 90 that can be linked to a manual and the EDC, along with the punchier dCi 110.

Already available on order in France, the Renault Captur Wave special edition kicks off at €21,100 for the TCe 90 version and goes all the way up to €25,000 for the dCi 90 EDC.
