If Lego Technic’s 1:8 scale Porsche 911 GT3 RS kit with 2,704 pieces is too puny for your model-building needs, maybe you should take on a project like this full-sized version of the race car that’s currently on display at the Mall of Scandinavia in Stockholm, Sweden. The exterior is impressive enough and deftly uses the plastic blocks to capture the vehicle's shape, including the wheels. However, the interior is where the quality of the work is really evident because it includes seats, a steering wheel, and even decals for the 911’s gauges. We would love to sit down inside.
It’s not clear who built this exquisite model. The Porsche is sitting on a platform with Lego Technic branding, which connects this life-sized version to the new kit. This one is the same color as the tinier car, too. Motor1 reached out to the Mall of Scandinavia to learn more.
The Lego Technic 911 GT3 RS kit went on sale in some markets on June 1. It should be widely available by August 1 but reportedly is selling out quickly from the toy company's online store. In the United States, the model costs $299.99. In addition to the over 2,700 pieces to assemble, the 600-page instruction book includes a detailed look at the real race car.
