Woman Goes To Discount Tire. Then A Worker Goes ‘Above And Beyond’ And Does Something Shocking

A woman is so happy with the customer service she received at a South Austin Discount Tire that she is asking everyone to recognize the employee.

TikTok creator Steph (@sgeazy21) posted a video about the experience last week. “If you go to Discount Tire near Exit 230 in South Austin, make sure you give Travis a shoutout,” Steph says.

She then briefly explains why. “We had an awful experience starting out dealing with a tire from a rental car company,” she says. “The experience was awful to begin with. Travis stepped up. And how often do companies these days go above and beyond?”

To end the video, Steph says, “Discount Tire, Travis deserves a raise and a promotion.”

Why Does This Discount Tire Employee Deserve A Raise?

In the comments section of the video, viewers weighed in on the customer service at Discount Tire. Others just wanted to know what Travis specifically did to earn such praise.

“Is Travis by chance your husband?” asked one person. Steph replied, “Oh, no, he helped me and my husband. But he really went above and beyond for us.”

“If this is the one by the Applebee’s they were amazing,” a second person said. “I have been needing repairs left and right for my car, and God sent them to help me with my tires. The cost and everything.”

A third person wrote, “What did he do? You didn’t explain anything.”

Steph wrote back that the rental car company denied their tire repair multiple times. “[Travis] stayed on the phone with them for three hours to help us get it fixed,” she wrote. “It was mainly about the customer service for us.”

Another person commented, “Shoutout my boss Travis.”

Discount Tire Is Considered One Of The Best In Class

Discount Tire is frequently mentioned on lists of the best tire retailers in the country, and customer service is one of the pros often highlighted.

A Reddit user posted a thread to r/tires three years ago to ask commenters to weigh in on the customer service and general reputation of Discount Tire. “Almost everyone I know who uses Discount Tires loves them, but I’ve heard horror stories too,” the person wrote.

One person in the comments wrote, “Any mechanic or mechanic-adjacent shop on the planet can have situations where an inexperienced tech messes something up, but Discount Tire has a really strong track record of, as a corporate policy, encouraging local managers to do everything possible to make the experience positive for customers.”

Another person said, “If I’m telling family or friends to go get tires, this is where I send them. They’re very good at what they do.”

Additionally, the Google reviews for the Discount Tire on Nelms Dr. in South Austin show that the location does indeed have a great track record with customers. Travis is mentioned alongside several other employees for quality customer service.
