Update: Hyundai has fully revealed the 2027 Tucson. You can read all the details here.

The Tucson is one of Hyundai's most important vehicles in the US. It sits neatly between the smaller Kona and larger Santa Fe, and it's available with gas, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The lineup also includes the more rugged XRT and sportier N Line.

While we've technically already seen the 2027 Hyundai Tucson, which debuted virtually in August, Hyundai is now pulling the cover off its best-selling SUV for the first time in America.

The company is hosting a launch event in New York City, where attendees will get their first chance to see the new Tucson in the metal. And you can watch it all happen live on Hyundai's YouTube channel.

What Can We Expect From The New Tucson?

The 2027 Tucson is thoroughly redesigned for its fifth generation in the US, bringing a much more dramatic look and a completely revamped interior Stateside.

Hyundai has given the SUV a more upright stance and a futuristic cabin. The new design is a major upgrade from the current Tucson, with angular lighting elements, prominent fender flares, and full-width lighting signatures at both ends.

There are some important changes under the hood, too. The new Tucson will use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that makes more power than its predecessor. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants are expected to carry over as well.

Hyundai is also bringing back the rugged-looking XRT. It'll get its own front-end treatment and a more adventurous appearance, giving buyers an alternative to the standard Tucson's more urban styling.

What do you think?

Inside, the new Tucson gets a large central display, a two-spoke steering wheel, a rounded center console, and a cleaner dashboard design. Hyundai has also focused on improving ride comfort and drivability with an updated suspension designed to respond more precisely to road conditions.

Final details, including pricing, fuel-economy ratings, and availability, will come closer to the Tucson's on-sale date. For now, we'll have to wait a little longer to see exactly what Hyundai has in store. The new Tucson is expected to hit US roads early next year.
