BMW gave the X6 M a thorough update in February this year, which brought mild-hybrid support for the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet. Despite the electric motor integrated into the transmission, the peak output of the performance SUV remained untouched compared to the pre-facelift model at 617 bhp and 553 lb-ft of torque. If you want more power, call the guys at Manhart.
What you see depicted in the gallery below isn’t the firm’s first tuning project based on the X6 M. We know from previous projects that the go-fast SUV can easily be tuned to deliver more power and in this case, the output goes up to 730 bhp and 664 lb-ft of torque. Keep in mind this is a pre-LCI model, which means there is no electric support in the eight-speed transmission.

What you won’t miss, however, is the sound of a V8 sports car. Manhart installs 100-mm exhaust pipes with available stainless steel OPF delete and replacement pipes. Some of those components are not legal in certain countries like Germany, which means Manhart won’t offer them in its home market.
Completing the hardware upgrades are a number of suspension changes. The SUV now comes with coil springs from KW Suspensions, allowing for variable height adjustment, or alternatively, new springs from H&R for a fixed lowering of 30 millimetres (1.18 inches).
If you are here for the exterior, here’s what you need to know. For starters, this is actually a customer car and is a one-off example to date. Manhart explains the owner of the SUV wanted “something very special and extravagant” when he approached the tuning firm. The result is a brutal-looking X6 M with winder wing/fender flares hiding 23-inch wheels with 315/25 tyres. The exterior is finished in a dominating violet colour with gold accents seen on the wheel arches, kidney grilles, front spoiler, and side skirts.
Manhart says many customisation options are available for the interior depending on the customer's wishes. In the case of this particular vehicle, the interior retains its factory look without any visual changes.
