With a lineup of cars powered by V12 engines, the introduction of the Rolls-Royce Spectre marked a shocking change in the history of the century-old brand.

Being the very first all-electric Rolls-Royce, the historic manufacturer had to ensure that the Specture was mechanically on par with its incredibly high standards of craftsmanship and build quality, despite being a car that is unlike anything Rolls-Royce has made before.

In order to do this, the Spectre underwent an unfathomably exhaustive testing programme, and Rolls-Royce is proud to announce that it is now complete, with the Spectre emerging from the rigorous testing having achieved incredible feats. The Spectre endured temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius (-40 Fahrenheit), and as high as 50 C (122 F), driven over 1.5 million miles, which simulates an estimated 400 years of use.

The testing process is the most intense one that Rolls-Royce has undergone in its 119-year history. The testing ensures that the Spectre will live up to Rolls-Royce’s high standards across the road and serve as the ultimate dream car for the future era of electric mobility, combining incredible luxury, robust performance, great style, unmatched build quality, innovative technology and unmatched comfort and convenience, regardless of where in the world it’s being owned and driven.

Rolls-Royce is a manufacturer that sets out to create the ultimate luxury cars, and despite being electric and unlike any Rolls-Royce before it, in that sense the Spectre is no different.
