In a typical BMW fashion, the Bavarian brand has revealed a range of M Performance parts for its fresh new M8 Coupe and Convertible unveiled online to the world several hours ago. The automaker says the accessories are inspired by the M8 GTE race car and are designed not only to allow customers to further individualise their cars, but also to improve performance in terms of lightweight construction and aerodynamics. All the components will be available from the market launch for both the M8 Coupe and Convertible, as well as their respective Competition versions.

For the exterior, BMW has prepared a number of additional carbon fibre details on top of the optional Carbon Package. These include carbon fibre M Performance sill attachments, radiator grille, and side decorative grilles. In addition, customers can opt for a carbon fibre engine cover that’s visible only when the bonnet is open.
In terms of performance, the range of extra parts and accessories includes M Performance brake pads which shorten the braking distance and provide improved response to the brake pedal. These are derived directly from the BMW Motorsport racing pads and should create a more racing-style feel behind the steering wheel.
Speaking of the steering wheel, BMW will offer an M Performance wheel with carbon fibre shift paddles and carbon fibre plus Alcantara (or carbon fibre plus leather) trim. Clearly showing its connection with the world of motor racing, the wheel has a blue central marking and a seam in the hallmark M colours of blue, red, and violet. This colour combination perfectly corresponds with the offered M Performance floor mats.
Last but not least, BMW will also sell to its customers an M Performance machine-washable indoor car cover that protects the car from dirt and scratches. A set of wheel bags will keep your second set of wheels clean when it comes to storing and transporting them.

As a supplement to the optional Carbon Package, the M Performance carbon fibre exterior components round off the dynamic, elegant motor racing style of the new BMW M8. While the M Performance sill attachments give the vehicle additional length in visual terms, the M Performance carbon fibre radiator grille and M Performance carbon fibre side decorative grille guarantee a compelling front view. Developed specially for the BMW M8, these components with exposed carbon fibre finish are elaborately crafted by hand and mutually harmonised. Sealed with a clear finish and a high-gloss polish, they are UV and temperature-resistant as being car wash compatible.
