Only 155 Aston Martin Rapide E will ever be made.
The pre-production model was not only presented static, but also was driving on the track with VIPs like Shmee150, who provided not only a walkaround, but a review of sorts from demo ride on the track.

Join me for a first ever opportunity to discover the brand new Aston Martin Rapide E! The V12 has been swapped out for an 800V electric system that offers 612hp (448kW) and a whopping 950nm of torque - more even than the Valkyrie hypercar! Only 155 units will be built of the car making its dynamic debut at the Formula E race in Monaco, so join me onboard with Darren Turner to get a sense of what it's about.
Having only just been presented to the world at the Shanghai Auto Show, the Rapide E is Aston Martin's first entry to the world of EVs, working in partnership with Williams Automotive Engineering. The Rapide E has a 65kWh battery pack good for 200 miles on the WLTP cycle, and capable of charging at a rate of 310 miles of charge per hour. Visually it is still distinctly 'Rapide' with the 4 door and 4 seat configuration but with a number of changes due to the different cooling and aerodynamic profile, for example fewer openings at the front and no exhaust tailpipes to be found at the rear.
Making its dynamic debut during the Formula E racing weekend, this is a first ever opportunity to see the car on the move and experience it onboard. At the wheel is Darren Turner, Aston Martin works driver, who we catch up with later on to find out a bit more of his thoughts on the brand new model.
