Shock! Horror! A Dacia you have to spend actual money on.
Dacia has revealed its most expensive car ever, but rear not, it's still extremely good value.
The Romanian brand has made a name for itself producing decent yet reasonably priced cars and the new diesel 4x4 is no different. Starting at £15,695 and going all the way to £18,695, it may be pricier than anything else from the Renault-owned brand, but it's still great value compared to any other similar car.
As well as the 'selective catalytic reduction' system (SCR), the Blue dCi 115 engine in the car has a new Air-Water exchanger, a higher injection pressure (2,000 bars) and new gearbox ratios. The engine produces, as the name suggests, 115 bhp with 192 lb-ft of torque at 2,000 rpm and achieves 60.1mpg (WLTP).
The car comes in three trim levels: Essential, Comfort and Prestige. The Essential trim (costing £15,695) comes with 16-inch 'Fidji' steel wheels, body coloured front and rear bumpers, manual air conditioning, heat adjustable driver’s seat, DAB radio with steering-column mounted controls and Bluetooth connectivity.
The middle-of-the-range Comfort trim is priced from £17,395 and adds 16-inch ‘Cyclade’ alloy wheels, front-seat armrest, leather steering wheel, graphite cloth upholstery, rear parking camera and sensors, electric front and rear windows, heated and electrically adjustable door mirrors, MediaNav 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system (which includes Satellite navigation, USB and AUX connection points) and a 7-function on-board computer, as standard.
The range-topping Prestige model is priced from £18,695 and comes with a brand new 17-inch ‘Diamond-cut’ alloy wheels, multi-view camera, blind spot warning, climate control and keyless entry.
Dacia's latest Duster has the same impressive off road capabilities of its predecessor, helped by a high ground clearance of 210mm, approach and departure angles of 30 and 33 degrees respectively as well as Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist. As standard on 4x4 versions is also a 4x4 monitor that incorporates a compass and notifies the driver of the vehicle’s angle in real time.
While the diesel-powered 4x4 version of the Duster is priced from £15,695, the entire Duster range starts from £9,995, making it the UK's most affordable SUV.
