Classier German pickup revealed.
When you think of pickup trucks, you think American, or Japanese. However, the Germans make a pretty decent one as well.
It is of course the Volkswagen Amarok, and now there's a new one which is a bit more stylish and a bit less steel girder.
The order books are now open for the Amarok Aventure, which adds a host of new features including 20-inch Talca alloy wheels, a body coloured sports bar with Aventura badging, and chrome-plated side bars with step and LED spot lighting. As with other models in the Amarok range, the Aventura also has under-body cladding, power folding mirrors, and a protective coating for the load compartment as standard. Inside there is ErgoComfort seats with 14-way adjustment. The soft Nappa leather-trimmed seats are fitted as standard, along with a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel equipped with shifter paddles. Volkswagen’s Discover Media Navigation system and special Aventura floor mats are other interior highlights
A range of colours are available, with reduced prices available for matte finishes. Ravenna Blue or Indium Grey are the matte colours available, costing £2,335, which is a saving of 24 percent on the regular cost for those finishes. Mountain top roll covers are also available in black or silver, costing £1387.50.
The engine is the Amarok range’s most powerful 3.0-litre TDI V6 with 254 bhp in normal driving and 268 bhp when using the overboost function, and 427 lb-ft of torque between 1,400 and 3,000 rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels.
The special edition Volkswagen Amarok Aventura is available to order now, priced at £39,960 (OTR exc VAT).
