Isuzu UK has just announced a new addition to its Utah range of pickups, with the launch of the D-Max Utah Luxe double cab, a catchy vehicle name if ever we saw one.
The Japanese truck maker has described the new addition to its repertoire as a “striking, comfortable and hardworking” pick-up – we can’t speak to the last two, but it’s certainly striking with its gigantic chrome grille and black band across the nose.

The Luxe builds on the existing members of the D-Max Utah range, offering 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, front bumper guard and bonnet protector, pro-lift tailgate assist (which Isuzu says has been designed to reduce tailgate weight by 95 percent for easier opening) and carpet mats. How could you say no to an extravaganza like that?
Isuzu says that the new Luxe-spec Utah is available in the standard range of Utah colours but it does recommend Splash White, Titanium Silver and Cosmic Black Mica, “as these particular colours provide the strongest aesthetic”.
The truck is available in manual or automatic versions – the manual will cost you a mere £26,159 on the road (excluding VAT) and the automatic is priced at £27,159 on the road, meaning you can pack in all those Luxe goodies for just £1,000 over the standard car’s price.
The standard version of the Utah already racks up an impressive equipment list, with reversing camera, front foglights, heated mirrors, keyless go, climate control, 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple and Android connectivity.
