Facelifted super saloon will arrive on UK roads in October.
Mercedes-AMG’s updated C 63 performance saloon has gone on sale with a £66,429 price tag, the German manufacturer has announced.
The V8-powered four-door, which is based on the 2019 C-Class, is the cheapest member of the C 63 family, with the Estate coming in at £67,629 and the Coupe and Cabriolet starting at £68,719 and £72,537 respectively.
All four bodystyles use the same hand-built 4-litre V8 biturbo engine, which produces a massive 469 bhp, although customers opting for the ‘S’ version will get an even more mountainous 503 bhp.
Either way, the engine is mated to a new nine-speed automatic transmission that replaces the seven-speed unit found in the outgoing C 63.
As a result, the newcomer can sprint from 0-62 mph in around four seconds, and keeps accelerating up to its electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. However, S models offer a top speed of 180 mph for the Saloon and Coupe, or 174 mph for the Estate and Cabriolet).
Mercedes-AMG has worked hard on improving the car’s handling, too, with adaptive dampers and a limited-slip rear differential now featuring as standard on all C 63 models.
Other standard kit includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a performance exhaust, 12.3-inch digital cockpit display and a 10.25-inch central display, as well as keyless start and wireless phone charging.
C 63 S variants, meanwhile, add to that with 19-inch wheels, AMG “performance” seats and nine-stage AMG traction control. Ceramic brakes are a £4,285 option.
Mercedes expects the first deliveries of the facelifted C 63 to begin in October.
