Alfa Romeo has two exciting debuts planned for the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, and you’ll be able to order them right afterwards.
The new Giulia Quadrifoglio NRING and Stelvio Quadrifoglio NRING Nürburgring Limited Editions are set to get special runs up the famous hillclimb before orders open for the limited edition models.
You’d better hurry if you plan to snap one up, because just 108 editions of each model will be available for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). The Italian carmaker says that the special editions celebrate the historic bond between Alfa Romeo and the legendary track in western Germany.
To celebrate the birth of the new limited edition, the NRING versions will have a specific ‘Authenticity Certification’ issued by FCA Heritage, giving them ‘Instant Classic’ status. Whether they are actual instant classics or not will really depend on getting behind the wheel and giving them a go.
These new limited editions use the anything-but-standard standard Quadrifoglio cars as a starting point, with a specification that includes carbon-ceramic brakes, Sparco race seats and interiors swathed in leather, Alcantara and carbon fibre inserts.
Outside, the grille surround and wing mirror caps are in carbon fibre, as are the side skirt inserts. Inside the NRING editions feature tinted windows, adaptive cruise control, a Harman Kardon premium audio package, 8.8-inch infotainment screens with Apple and Android connectivity and DAB radio.
Both cars feature a numbered badge in the carbon fibre dashboard insert and the unique Circuit Grey livery. The Giulia model premieres the new bare carbon roof, while the Stelvio is equipped with an electrically operated panoramic sunroof.
Additionally, Alfa Romeo says it has created an exclusive and exciting experience for the 216 owners of the Stelvio Quadrifoglio NRING and Giulia Quadrifoglio NRING Nürburgring limited editions.
Everyone gets a specific concierge service to assist them throughout their experience, which includes a numbered 1:18 scale model of your car before it’s delivered, followed by a welcome kit on collection of the real thing that includes a snazzy customised jacket, Sparco racing gloves, a sports bag, Quadrifoglio cufflinks and a special pair of shoes. Owners will also be offered the chance to attends a sports driving technique course on the Nürburgring circuit in 2019. Phew.
The Nordschleife circuit has particular memories for the Stelvio, with its 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine – it holds the record for the fastest SUV around the Nürburgring, having completed the 20.83 km circuit in 7:51.7, thanks to a 176 mph top speed and a 0-62 mph time of 3.8 seconds.
Alfa says that the Giulia Quadrifoglio NRING and Stelvio Quadrifoglio NRING and Nürburgring Limited Editions are available to order from this weekend priced from £82,500 and £89,500 on the road respectively.
