Just 700 will be coming to the UK
Available exclusively in hatchback trim and based on the 118bhp SE-L Nav Mazda3, the Sport Black adds 18-inch dark alloy wheels, Jet Black roof spoiler and door mirrors, and either Soul Red Metallic, Snowflake White Pearlescent, or Eternal Blue Mica paint choices (yes, not black!). All of the paint colours for the special edition are free of charge.
It gets extra technology in the form of a reversing camera, LED highlights with adaptive front lighting system and smart keyless entry. There's also Mazda’s MZD-Connect system, 7-inch colour touchscreen display and infotainment system, cruise control and dual-zone climate control, integrated navigation, a heated steering wheel and Bose surround sound System – all as standard.
'The Mazda3 is a core model in our line-up, one that continues to be popular with both private and fleet customers,' said Jeremy Thomson, managing director of Mazda Motors UK. 'The Sport Black special edition delivers even more value to our customers and I’m sure the its winning combination of extra equipment, distinctive styling enhancements and competitive price will make this a very popular addition to the already extensive Mazda3 range.'
The latest iteration of the Mazda3 hit the market last year, and introduced a new front bumper and grille design. On top of that, new LED headlights and chrome bezels for the foglights were added. Inside, like the latest 6 saloon, a new steering wheel from the larger CX-9 SUV was added and the parking brake was switched to an electric one.
Active safety technology was also improved – a new camera for the pre-collision braking system now works better and at greater speeds, and a new traffic sign recognition camera can warn if the driver is exceeding the speed limit. It also warns of no entry and stop signs.
Only 700 examples will be coming to the UK with prices starting from £21,595, so you'd better get in touch with your local Mazda dealer quickly.
