Jeep says the new Wrangler is 'the most capable off-roader ever' thanks to new technology and features such as two advanced four-wheel drive, active, on-demand full-time systems – Command-Trac and Rock Trac – plus Tru-Lock electric front and rear axle lockers, Trac-Lok limited slip differential and electronic front sway-bar disconnect.

The event won't be all about the Wrangler though. Visitors will be able to sample Jeep's other products, including the bonkers 700bhp 6.2-litre V8 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk – the most powerful and fastest Jeep model ever. Jeep Academy drivers will be on-hand to guide visitors through test drives of Jeeps range of products at the event.

In addition to the test drives and product demonstrations, Camp Jeep will also have an array of shows, live music, barbecues and activities for children, making what its dubbed a 'Jamboree-style atmosphere' similar to previous Jeep gatherings across the US, from California and Maine to Arizona and Tennessee.

More than 30 similar events take place across the US each year, the first of which being back in 1953 on the Rubicon Trail on the mountains between California and Nevada.
