McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the British manufacturer's skunkworks for well-heeled clients has unveiled a special edition of the 570GT.

Called the MSO Black Collection, the car is covered in McLaren's famous Papaya Orange... No it isn't. It's black. Very black.

The exterior is painted in a bespoke MSO carbon black paint, with the bodywork complimented by the MSO Defined Black Pack which replaces standard-fit Dark Palladium components including the front and rear splitters.

Inside there's more new MSO Black Collection Trim, including a unique combination of jet black leather with carbon black alcantara accents on the transmission tunnel, a lower instrument panel, headliner, steering wheel and speaker surrounds. The electric and heated memory sports seats come wrapped in semi-aniline leather featuring unique MSO logo embroidery on the headrests, and there's a fancy carbon black key and bespoke dedication plate located under the centre console too.

The car isn't all about the cosmetic enhancements though – there's an MSO Defined Titanium SuperSports Exhaust, a Sport Pack dynamic handling package, and Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres to ensure that the 570GT Black Collection has a sound and feel that matches up with the aggressive look.

'McLaren Special Operations allows our customers to fully express themselves through their cars; and the new 570GT MSO Black Collection is no different,' said Rob Melville, head of design at McLaren Automotive. 'Black is a colour associated with elegance, power and authority whilst also surrounded by a certain air of mystery. The end result remains true to the luxurious nature of the 570GT but we managed to further amplify its sleek, sporty character with a wealth of new MSO Defined options which I am sure will delight discerning owners.'

Just 100 will be made available, all priced from £179,950.
