Are you in the market for a brand new Skoda? The friendly chap who hands over the keys to one of the Czech car maker's vehicles could turn out to be none other than Britain’s most decorated Olympian, Sir Bradley Wiggins.

Wiggins surprised a bunch of Skoda customers in Cheshire over the weekend by hanging around the place and dishing out keys to members of the public who were in the area looking for a test drive of the new Kodiaq SUV.

The former professional road and track racing cyclist was at Mitchell Skoda at Cheshire Oaks near Ellesmere Port in the north west of England, where hidden cameras had been placed to capture the faces of unsuspecting customers who were there to take a test drive of the seven-seat Kodiaq, one of Skoda's latest additions to the range.

'Their reactions were brilliant. We knew our customers would be delighted with the experience as most of them are avid cycling fans and so it was a great moment to capture,' said the managing director of the Skoda showroom, Mark Mitchell. 'It was a pleasure to host Sir Bradley and I would like to extend a huge thank you to him for taking the time to visit our business.'

Speaking of his time at the retailer, Sir Bradley Wiggins said: 'I can't say anyone was expecting to find me handing over their car keys or jumping in for a test drive – their reactions were priceless.'
