UK pricing for DS 7 Crossback announced

Classy Citroen spin-off DS has announced the UK pricing for its first SUV offering, the DS 7 Crossback.

Prices for the SUV will start at £28,050, and go all the way up to a rather staggering £43,535. And that's not even the most expensive model – a four-wheel drive hybrid model is on the way in 2019 that will cost even more, with a price tag pencilled at around £50,000.

It may have a DS badge on it, but it's still a Citroen with a little hint of Peugeot under the skin, making that a rather scary number.

Anyway – the base price of £28,050 gets you the Elegance model which comes with 18-inch Black Onyx diamond-cut alloy wheels, 3D rear lights and Gloss Black exterior door mirrors. Inside there's Bronze Harmony cloth on the dashboard and door panels, a leather steering wheel with chrome controls and a leather gear knob. Plus, there's a whole host of safety features: lane departure warning, driver attention warning, rear parking sensors and LED front fog lights with cornering light function.

The Performance Line is next in the model range, and adds 19-inch wheels, active suspension, digital displays and satnav. DS says that it expects that model to be the bestseller in the whole range.

Ultra Prestige is what DS is calling the top-of-the-range model at launch, and that adds yet another inch to the wheels, as well as toys like interior LED lighting, wireless phone charging, an advanced safety pack and an extra smattering of chrome too.

Engine options across the range include a pair of petrol engines and a pair of diesel motors too. The two PureTech four-cylinder engines, which produce either 177bhp or 222bhp, come as standard with an eight-speed gearbox and have fuel economy starting at 48.7mpg. The turbodiesel options also come with an automatic gearbox, and produce either 128bhp or 177bhp. The diesels offer fuel economy figures of 70.6mpg and 57.6mpg respectively.
