Tired of all that having to change gears nonsense?
Is that left knee getting a bit sore in heavy traffic? Vauxhall is offering London-based drivers free automatic gearboxes on its manual models.
The British car maker cites a recent study that apparently shows automatic gearboxes are more popular today than ever before, inspiring Vauxhall to offer the unusual upgrade. Anyone who buys a new Astra SRi, Mokka X Active, or Corsa Energy before 2 April 2018 from Vauxhall retailers within the M25 will be offered the free transmission upgrade – the move could see customers saving up to £1,405 on their new car.
'It’s no secret that driving in and around London can be stressful at times due to all the congestion,' said Vauxhall's head of sales, Richard Collier. 'This is why we’re delighted to offer our customers the free upgrade to an automatic model to try and make driving in the area that little bit smoother.
'An upgrade will mean motorists no longer have to worry about shifting gears up and down due to traffic congestion, so if you’re interested in taking advantage of this fantastic offer then pop in to your local Vauxhall retailer.'
Vauxhall says that potential buyers of its new cars can also take advantage of a parallel offer for up to five years of zero percent finance.
Technically there are 23 Vauxhall dealers within the M25, but Vauxhall is promoting the offer from 31 of the dealerships that make up its 'London Vauxhall' regional group. A relief if you live in Dartford, where the local dealer lies a mere 75 metres beyond the orbital boundary.
