The premium Japanese SUV will be priced from £51,645.
Lexus has announced UK prices for the new Sport trim model on its RX SUV range, following the introduction of similar Sport offerings for the CT, NX and IS ranges.
The RX Sport is based on the existing mid-range Luxury trim level, which comes with satellite navigation, heated and ventilated front seats and leather upholstery as standard. Sport specification adds black details around the exterior of the premium Japanese car, as well as black 20-inch twin-spoke alloy wheels, black electrically adjustable heated door mirrors, and a new black and chrome diffuser at the rear.
Lexus describes the Sport treatment of the company's aggressive front grille as 'powerful', with horizontal black fins framed in chrome. Inside the theme continues, with an all-black leather trim.
Other features include auto dipping LED headlights with automatic high beam, Lexus Premium Navigation – which is integrated into a 12.3-inch multimedia display – power adjustable front seats and a memory setting for the driver’s seat, steering wheel and door mirrors. The new SUV also comes with the full Lexus Safety System+, an active safety and driver assistance feature which helps the RX Sport achieve a full five-star safety rating from crash testers Euro NCAP.
Power for the new SUV comes from a 3.5-litre petrol-powered V6 engine that combines with an electric motor producing 308bhp and the trusty Toyota hybrid system. Here both motors are linked up to the Lexus's four-wheel-drive system for added control. Economy is decent too – around 54.3mpg on the official combined cycle, with emissions of 120g/km CO2.
The new RX Sport is set to go on sale on 1 February, priced from £51,645 on the road, making it the same price as the Luxury-spec version of the RX.
