There's only 43 like it, and it could fetch £190,000.
Ever wanted to own a spotless, rare classic Ferrari? Well now's your chance.
A perfect 1965 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Series 1 is coming up for auction at the Silverstone Auctions Race Retro classic car sale. It's one of just 44 UK right-hand-drive examples ever built and is expected to fetch between £160,000 and £190,000 at the auction at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire on the weekend of 24 and 25 February 2018.
Chassis #6875 is painted in Grigio Argento – its original colour – and is complete with the optional wire wheels, power-operated windows and Pelle Nera Franzi leather interior specified by the original owner. The 1965 Pininfarina-penned design was the fastest road-legal Ferrari back in its day thanks to a 300bhp V12. The 0-62mph run was handled in just 6.3 seconds. Not bad for a 53-year-old car.
'It’s a rare occurrence for a right-hand drive 1965 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Series 1 to come to market, so Silverstone Auctions is proud to offer this beautiful car for sale at Race Retro,' said Adam Rutter, classic car specialist at Silverstone Auctions. 'We expect bidding to be strong as this exquisite model is offered with a comprehensive history and is very distinctive with its quad headlights, truly evocative of 1960s fashion.'
'The Silverstone Auctions Race Retro classic car sale offers a fantastic opportunity to own a rare and truly exquisite 1960s Ferrari,' he added. 'The pre-sale estimate demonstrates the allure of this model and we expect strong interest from bidders and Ferraristas around the world.'
The seller has owned the car for a decade, and it's been treated to a full overhaul, including a respray, cylinder head and gearbox rebuild, and a bodywork refresh that included replacing the sills and floor panels.
