The Porsche 911 GT3 is an astonishing performance machine, but far from subtle. A new Touring Package means you can retain everything great about the GT3 – minus the wing.

For any purist who missed out on the 911R, this might just be the next best thing. The Touring Package is a no-cost option allowing you to delete the GT3’s huge rear wing and add a manual transmission.

It keeps the 4-litre 493bhp flat-six allowing for a 0-62mph dash of 3.9 seconds. That’s mighty impressive, but the manual gearbox loses out in a game of Top Trumps with the PDK by 0.4 seconds. A top speed of 196mph is also 2mph slower than the winged car. But this car isn’t all about the numbers.

Rear-wheel steering is also carried over, as is the sports suspension to maintain the handling prowess GT3s are famed for. The addition of a manual gearbox could make this the Porsche 911 to own.

The Touring Package promotes a sleeker design that might be more welcome outside a posh London restaurant than its more aggressive counterpart. That said, 20-inch forged alloy wheels and a prominent set of dual exhausts makes it no shrinking violet.

As the Touring Package won’t cost you any extra cash, you just need to find £112k and Porsche will happily put one on your driveway.
