Original allocation of 100 sold out, so Honda's sending a few more over.
Honda’s hybrid halo car is still in strong demand with a lengthy waiting list of people itching to take delivery of their new pride and joy. The good news for UK buyers is that they will be waiting a little less for their Honda NSX.
For the first year Honda allocated 100 cars for the UK market, however, all are now spoken for. As a result a further 50 will be making their way to our shores from Ohio in the US where they are built.
New buyers willing to part with £140,000 can expect to receive their shiny new Honda NSX from mid-2018. Those who simply can’t wait will find existing cars selling for an inflated price. Some low mileage examples are fetching over £180,000.
There is more good news for UK buyers as a second dealership has been fitted out to look after customers and their cars. In addition to Crown Honda in Hendon handling the flagship model, Chiswick Honda can now do everything from servicing to walking you through the buying process.
The supercar is powered by a twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 engine supplemented by three electric motors. A heady 573bhp rockets the car from 0-62mph in less than three seconds and on to a top speed of 191mph.
Four different drive modes use these raw ingredients in different ways. Quiet Mode allows you to make a stealthy getaway using just the electric motors up to 40mph. Sport uses a combination of electric and combustion power for a blend of performance and economy. Sport+ gives the NSX more focus with sharper responses to your inputs. Track Mode maximises performance for ultimate lap times.
The NSX GT3 is soon to start racing in Europe, but strong speculation suggests that Honda will bring more of that performance to the road. NSX Type R anyone?
