We enjoyed a sneak peek at Jaguar's most powerful road car ever earlier this week, but now members of the public are being invited to get up close to the bonkers XE SV Project 8 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Based loosely on the XE saloon (around 75% of parts have been replaced), the Project 8 is powered by a 600hp supercharged V8 engine providing an incredible 516lb ft of torque. That means the track-focused Jag is good for more than 200mph and covers the 0-60mph run in just 3.3 seconds. Supercar territory.

Go-faster gear includes a mighty downforce-generating rear wing along with headlights that have been moved forwards to make room for the track-biased Michelin Cup tyres. Jaguar's Special Vehicles team has resorted to extensive use of aluminium and carbon fibre to reduce weight, while a Track Pack is also available. This shaves off an extra 12.5kg off the Project 8's 1,757kg mass, while using race-specification front seats and swapping the rears with a roll cage.
As well as being the most powerful Jaguar ever, the firm is claiming it features its fastest ever gearshift, as well as being the highest tuned car and the fastest accelerating to 60mph.
Although the covers were taken off the Project 8 on Tuesday, Jaguar has been saving the Project 8's dynamic debut for the Goodwood hill climb. It's expected to be completing a run up the hill later today, with a hot lap around the Nurburgring penned in for later in the year.
Order books for the souped-up XE are now open, with Jaguar staff on hand should you wish to part with your cash at Goodwood. You'll need deep pockets, though, prices start at £149,995. Deliveres are expected to start in May 2018.
