The Citroen Type H is one of a handful of utility vehicles that can shine in a car collection. Presented in 1947 and launched in 1948, the Type H is now 70 years old. To celebrate this canonical age, Fabrizio Caselani and designer David Obendorfer have created a Type H of the 21st century. How? By offering a neo-retro kit to be mounted on a current Citroen Jumpy/Dispatch!

Similarities with the original Type H are obvious. Characteristic traits such as the corrugated sheets, the prominent grille or the two round lights in the front are all present and correct. Neatly, different versions are being proposed, including a van, 4x4, tow truck, motor home, California, even a retro foodtruck.

Only 70 kits will be produced by FC Automobili and the transformations will be carried out by hand in Italy. Thanks to its Jumpy base, the H 70th anniversary will have no difficulty in making its way into the current traffic (the engine is available in 110 or 160 hp). Quite a contrast to the original: back in its day, the Type H diesel developed at the time between 51 and 56 hp, while averaging as little as 10mpg in the urban cycle (according to FC Automobili). Very far, in other words, from the current BlueHDi standards...
