The Nissan Juke is now not in its first flush of youth (and the number of challengers grows ever-higher: the latest is the Hyundai Kona). To give the range a lift ahead of its replacement expected later this year, the firm has launched two new special editions. The Juke Tekna Pulse costs from £20,700 and the Juke N-Connecta Style is priced from £18,755.

It’s the Juke Tekna Pulse that’s the exciting one. It’s the first Nissan to have an upgraded audio system from French brand Focal; the powerful new six-speaker setup pumps up output from 40 watts to 120 watts in the front and rear main drivers, and from 40 watts to 100 watts in the tweeters. Focal’s propriety sound processing tech is also installed.

Other interior enhancements include a sports makeover for the standard black leather seats, a choice of two exterior colours – Metallic Black or Dark Grey – and 18-inch alloys. Take it with a 1.2 DiG-T 115 turbo petrol engine from £20,70, or a 1.5 dCi 110 turbodiesel for £22,305, but be quick: Nissan’s only making 1500 of them.

And the Juke N-Connecta Style? This is, as its name suggests, a styling pack for the regular N-Connecta trim. What do you get? An exterior personalisation kit, that colour-coordinates trim on the bumpers, headlights and mirror covers, plus Tokyo Black inserts for the 18-inch wheels and standard xenon headlights. Inside, posh Tokyo Black seats are installed, and there’s more black trim for the centre console and door panels.

Both models are on sale now.
