I have the power
Under the bonnet, the 2019 Continental GT features an upgraded 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 that now makes 626 bhp and 664 lb-ft. Among the improvements, the engine receives a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, and tech like stop-start, coasting, and cylinder deactivation provides a boost in fuel economy. To make this setup work, the engine management software has to perform 300 million calculations per second.
The upgraded mill hooks up to a new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
The powertrain gets the coupe to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds and to a top speed of 207 mph.
I can see clearly now
The new Continental GT features headlights with a cut crystal effect that is supposed to evoke high-end glassware. Inside, each of them contains 82 LEDs.
An infotainment screen that hides away
Don't feel like seeing the infotainment screen? When 2019 Continental GT owners want a more traditional look, the display rotates to reveal three analogue gauges on a wood panel.
To make this disappearing act happen, there are 40 moving parts, including two electric motors with their own gearboxes, that control the screen's rotation.
Come on feel the noise
Ultra high-end sound component maker Naim contributes its expertise to the 2019 Continental GT. The system consists of 18 speakers. Two Active Bass Transducers make your music really thump. Plus, the whole setup runs through a 2,200-watt amplifier.
Miles of wires
To keep all of this tech going, there are 5 miles of wires running through the Continental GT. The electronics include 2,300 circuits and 92 ECUs to run them.
